Susan Jameson

Susan Jameson is one of Britain’s best know actresses. Born in 1944, August 13 in Barnt Green, Worcestershire.
She trained at the Birmingham School of Speech and Drama, and made her first appearance on the stage as Anne Frank in the play The Diary of Anne Frank at the Weston Super-Mare Repertory Company.
She then appeared with several repertory companies, including Birmingham, Coventry and Glasgow. Her first TV appearance was in the hit series Dixon of Dock Green.
In 1963 she joined the cast of Coronation Street as the typist, who later married builder Jerry Booth. She featured in the series for two years, but came back for a while in 1968.
One of her most well know TV roles was that of Kate in the 1969 series Take Three Girls and it’s sequel Take Three Women which was shown in 1982.
Another one of her best know roles is that of Jessie Seaton in the hit TV series When The Boat Comes In. Where she starred alongside her real life husband James Bolam.
The list of TV appearances for Susan Jameson is almost endless. Including roles or guest appearances in such programmes as Z Cars, To Serve Them All My Days, The Dave Allen Show, Space 1999, Hi De Hi, Home To Roost, All In Good Faith, Boon, Space 1999, Bad Boys, Rosie The First and Heartbeat.
She has also appeared in films such as I, Monster (1971), International Velvet (1978), The Merchant of Venice (1980), Terry On The Fence (1986), The Secret World of Polly Flint (1989), Catherine Cookson's The Girl (1996), Last of the Long Haired Boys and the film version of All Creatures Great and Small. Not to mention an extensive list of radio shows as well as recording many audio books.
When not working she spends her time writing.
Susan Jameson is currently she is staring alongside her husband James Bolam, Dennis Waterman, Alun Armstrong and Amanda Redman in the brilliant TV serial New Tricks.
